Cedric Bakambu Takes Over From Naby Keita As African Most Expensive Player


Congo DR striker Cedric Bakambu breaks African record to becomes a most expensive player of all time with his £65million move from Villarreal to Chinese Super League club Beijing Guoan.
The 26-year-old has overtaken Liverpool bound Star, Naby Keita, and Mohamed Salah as the costliest African in history.
Bakambu has agreed a long term contract worth a reported £307,000 a week, despite interest from Tottenham, Newcastle, West Brom and West Ham.

According to L`Equipe claiming that Beijing Guoan are on the verge of announcing the signing of Bakambu after passing medical with the Chinese club
and he will become the latest big name to move to the Chinese Super League, following in the footsteps of Brazilian trio Oscar, Hulk, Alex Teixeira and Super Eagles stars of Mikel Obi, Odion Ighalo, and Obafemi Martins.
Villarreal will receive a transfer fee of £35m for his release clause and pay another £30m in taxes to their country's football association due to the new rule FA introduced in May last year in a bid to stop the huge influx of foreign stars and promote their own young players which make him most expensive African player in history.
Bakambu has scored 46 goals in 101 appearances for the Yellow Submarine since arriving from Turkish Super Lig Bursaspor in 2015.
