Chelsea Striker Out Till End Of Season
Chelsea striker Izzy Brown has been ruled out of action for the remainder of the 2017-2018 campaign.
The England youth international was farmed out on loan to Premier League rivals Brighton & Hove until the end of the season but has to return to his parent club after picking up a serious injury.
Brown tore the anterior cruciate knee ligament which led to his substitution in the 6th minute of the Seagulls 2-1 win over Crystal Palace in the third round of the FA Cup on Monday.
Manager Chris Hughton told Brighton's official webpage : "It's one we didn't expect. It's really disappointing news for all concerned, but obviously more for Izzy than anyone else.
"He's a young lad who has made a really good impression at the club and in the second half of the season he would have played more games.
''It’s still very fresh for everyone, but we are grateful to Chelsea for the loan, and to Izzy for the impact he has made during the first half of the season.''
The 21-year-old Brown made 14 appearances for Brighton in all competitions, logging 312 minutes.
