24-Year Old Courtois Replacement Favour Move To Liverpool
Stoke City keeper Jack Butland is reportedly pushing move to Liverpool despite being identified as a long-term replacement for Thibaut Courtois.
The 24-year-old Stoke’s stopper has made 59 Premier League appearances since arriving at the club back in 2013. However, Butland is being heavily linked with a switch away from the Potters.
It’s believed that Butland is firmly on the Blues radar, with Chelsea boss is on the hunt for Thibaut Courtois replacement.
However, according to football.London, the Stoke’s shot-stopper would prefer to follow the footsteps of Virgil van Dijk and sign for Liverpool instead of Chelsea.
It’s reported that Stoke are demanding around £30million for Butland so Jurgen Klopp’s side will have to splash the money to land their top target.
Both Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet continue to struggle between the sticks for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp is itching to find a quality replacement.
Asked about transfer rumours earlier in the may, Butland said: ‘I see it as a really positive thing. It is nice to be recognised, I must be doing something right.
‘But I also have to remember I have been out for a year now and I just need to get back to doing what I love doing and the rest will take care of itself.’
Butland has three years left on his current deal with Stoke City.
