Shaw 'wants payoff to leave United'
As speculation that Manchester United will move for Tottenham defender Danny Rose has increased, so too has talk that Luke Shaw will soon leave Old Trafford.
But the Sun reports that Shaw "wants a £5 million payoff to go in January," with United "ready to cut their losses."
Shaw, the report says, "earns £130,000 a week under the terms of his contract" and has a number of clubs interested in signing him, either permanently or on loan, including Newcastle.
The Sun adds that the left-back "knows he will not get the same wage packet elsewhere and wants a settlement."
United, who paid £30m to sign Shaw from Southampton, are reported to want £20m to let him go permanently.
But the report quotes a source as saying the player "will not make it easy for the club to show him the door in January."
