Leicester Coach Blames Red Card For Defeat
Leicester City coach Claude Puel has blamed the dismissal of Wilfred Ndidi for his side's worst defeat of the season, a 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
Trailing 2-0 at the interval, the Frenchman argued that they were trying to get back into the game when the Nigeria international received a second yellow card in the 61st minute for diving and was sent off by referee Martin Atkinson.
''The red card prevented us to try and come back in the game. Without Wilfred Ndidi, it was difficult to recover the ball and put Crystal Palace under pressure,'' Claude Puel told Sky Sports in his post match comments.
''I did not see the two incidents but he did not make too many faults in the game and was sent off. It was not our day and not a good game for us.
''Palace deserve the result, they played with desire, togetherness and quality. We did not deserve a win.''
Wilfred Ndidi will miss The Foxes League Cup quarterfinal tie against Manchester City on Tuesday, December 19 but will be available for selection for next weekend's Premier League match against Manchester United.
