Planes Banned From Flying Over Lionel Messi's House


Planes are banned from flying over Lionel Messi house as the expansion of El Prat Airport in Barcelona have been abandoned because it would have led to more air traffic above mansion of Argentina talisman in the coastal town of Castelldefels.
El Prat is one of Europe's busiest hubs and airline bosses were hoping to add extra runways to allow more flights to come in and out of the Catalan city was discarded, were environmental and financial reasons.
But the president of budget Spanish airline Vueling has offered a different perspective, saying 'you cannot pass over where Messi lives'.
"You cannot pass over where Messi lives,” Javier Sanchez-Prieto said during a talk at Barcelona’s ESADE university.
"This doesn’t happen anywhere else in the world.”
"Clearly frustrated by the denial of a money-making opportunity, the chief added.
Messi reportedly bought his neighbours’ house last year, to keep the noise level to a minimum around his home.
The Barcelona superstar's 10,000 square-meter property overlooks the Mediterranean sea and has a swimming pool and a football pitch.
The area of Castelldefels is just a 12-mile drive from the Camp Nou and is home to several Barcelona players, including Philippe Coutinho who recently bought a house in the area.
