MFM Starts Their CAF Champions League Campaign on High
Nigeria's representative in the 2018 CAF Champions League MFM FC secured an away goal advantage in Mali on Sunday after holding AS Real Bamako to a 1-1 draw at the Omnisports Modibo Keita stadium in the first leg of this tie.
Two first-half goals within two minutes by both sides was all there was in terms of finding the back of the net as the Nigerians return home, hoping to build on the away goal advantage during the return leg.
Akinyemi Nojeem broke the deadlock after 15 minutes to put the Nigerian team in front with a great strike but the visitors' lead was shortlived by Miakib Giscard 's powerful header to bring Bamako back on level terms.
Next up for the Olukoya Boys is an away trip to Akure where they face Sunshine Stars in a NPFL fixture before the visit of Réal Bamako to the Soccer Temple in Agege, two days later.
