Liverpool And Tottenham To Collect £1M and £1.5M Respectively From Title Winning Manchester City

Liverpool are set for a small cash windfall following Manchester City’s title victory.
Times journalist Paul Hirst writes:
“Tottenham Hotspur will earn £1.5 million from City’s title win due to a clause they inserted into Kyle Walker’s £54 million transfer to City last summer. Liverpool are due £1 million under the terms of Raheem Sterling’s move to City three years ago, while Sané’s former club Schalke will receive €500,000 (£432,000).”
City wrapped the title on Sunday as Manchester United failed to beat West Brom at home, securing Pep Guardiola the league in his second campaign after taking charge.
Sterling has been key for City, scoring 22 goals in all competitions and justifying his £50m price-tag.
Actually, in today’s market, the price-tag City paid for our former winger looks very small, considering his age as well.
That being said, the fact of the matter is that Sterling wouldn’t get in Jurgen Klopp’s first-choice starting XI if he moved back to Anfield now.
He’s not any better than Mo Salah or Roberto Firmino, and we’d still pick Sadio Mane ahead of him.
Next season, we’re backing Liverpool to properly challenge City for domestic honours.
We’ve proved in our past three victories over them that they’re actually not a better side, just a more consistent one.
A few key summer signings will help, of course, but the influence of Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk has been so great that we’re levels above where we were at the beginning of the campaign.
